Comments:
I forgot all ab out the Spring Stew. I spent some time with the XYL watching a
movie, then got working on an old military receiver. It happened to be tuned to
1.830 MHz and when I hooked an antenna to it, I heard all kinds of CW signals.
The proverbial light bulb lit up and I checked 160 and found tyhe Spring Stew in
full swing. I had to get up early, so could not stay up late, I only spent an
hour in the evening, and then another hour before sunrise. Too bad, because QRN
was rather low and the band seemed OK. I spent the previous day looking for
rodent chew marks in my beverages. There is still one cable that is dead, but I
fixed five other spots where they had eaten into the cable. The snow is now
mostly gone so I can work on things without too much trouble.
