Comments:
More activity than usual, probably due to being a holiday for many. Happy New
Year to all. Got a late start. Was cleaning up pine cones, sticks, and other
debris from yesterday afternoons rain storm, when I remembered the SST. Since
we returned to in-person work at the office, I can seldom make the Friday
edition of SST. 20 and 40M were both pretty good, but there is a relay
somewhere in my system that doesn't always fully return to receive and I
apologize to a few callers that I couldn't make out. One interesting
experience: I was doing S&P up the 20M band and after working someone in
SST, I tuned up about 500 Hz and heard EL2DT in Liberia answering me and sending
"599." I answered him on his frequency and he acknowledged. Didn't
count for SST, of course, but was a good DX QSO. EL2DT must not have (or must
not use) a CW filter. Thanks for all QSOs. See you all next year. 73, John,
