The crispy-crittered AL-82 bandswitch was loaned to me by an amplifier
repairman who was not present when the failure occurred, and I did not
inspect the amplifier-- so I have no evidence or clue as to what might
have caused the failure.
If someone else has an AL-82 whose bandswitch arced, I am interested in
learning about the circumstances
