Eimac's  pulse-rated version of the 8877 has a peak emission rating of 
50A at a pulse width of 10uS.

How did we get from 8877 to 3-500Z?  
 Perhaps calling Varian would not be in your best interest, Mr. Rauch.  
When I did so during the vhf parasitics debate, it seemed as though I was 
told me a bit more than you would have liked.
