Ameritron had very little to do with the QSK boards. These are the tried and
true circuits developed by Heath for the SB-1000. I have had NO problems
with several models of Heath/Ameritron units, both inboard and outboard
models. Radar units and a lot of the newer ham and military gear use pin
diode switching.

There was a QST article a couple of years back however, challenging Ameritron
to upgrade the pin diodes on their boards to the newer and much more powerful
now available. I called Ameritron and they told me they had no intention at
the moment to do so. Perhaps someone on the reflector has the part number
and source for the bigger diodes or remembers the QST article.
