The hotswitching problem is not confined to CW. The period in mS from
PTT closure to RF out is identical to that on QSK-CW. Ditto for VOX
operation. Ditto for AM operation.

Not likely - Modern transceivers stop transmitting abruptly -- if they
didn't, they would not work on QSK.

takes place in the resonant circuit between the anode's C and the tune-C.
