Hello Ron,

I've been running a Titan for about 4 years and my recommendation is
converse to the method suggested to UNLOAD the amp. I would never unload
the amp but the only way I know for the greatest Po is to load as heavily
as possible while slowly increasing the drive and tweaking the plate
tune. You will come to a point that no further tuning or drive will
result in greater output. Then load just a few % beyond that for the
best IMD performance and the power will drop about 3% then. Under the
foregoing, you would have about 55 watts of drive, 35 mA of Ig and a Po
of about 1800 watts on 20 meters. This assumes that you are running a
220 line, good vswr - in and out, plus good tubes, on the high power
setting and a GOOD wattmeter!

GL & 73,

Marv, W6FR
