Odds are poor contact with the filament pins on the socket.  Clean them
and make sure they're plenty tight.  Common problem.  

The filament pins are: as you look at the socket, the two centermost side
by side pins directly across the socket from the one lone pin.  Hmm,
let's try this:  point the one lone pin at 12:00 o'clock, the filament
pins willl be at 5 and 7 o'clock.  (Happy hour!)  

Never mind...
