I have a copy of the 1959 penta lab catalog and pulled the following specs
out for a
PL-172 used in AB1 RF amplifier service. at 3000 Volts

DC Plate Voltage 3000 Volts
DC Sceen Supressor Voltage 500 volts
DC Suppressor Grid Voltage 75 volts
DC Control Grid Voltage -115 Volts
Zero signal DC Plate Current 220 ma
Zero signal DC Screen Current 9 ma
Maximum signal DC Plate Current 780 ma
Maximum signal DC screen Current 41 ma
Maximum signal Peak RF Grid voltage 110 volts
Maximum signal Power Input 2340 watts
Maximum Useful Power output 1540 watts

filament 6.0 volts at 7.8amps

The tube is also know by the number 8295.
The closest EIMAC equivalent might be the 4CX1000A.

Other substitutions could require PS changes.
