There are quite a few of these tubes surplus in the Dallas flea markets. They
were used in an airborne linear built by Rockwell (Collins). I have seen one
and it is unbelievably compact . I believe the tubes are replaced during
maintenance overhaul . One of the Rockwell engineers told me that they were
designed by Eimac specifically for that application and that the price
prevented much ham use. There are several guys that I know of who have used
them in ham linears. One of my friends bought a 5 gallon plastic bucket full
of the pulls at a scrap dealer. They are usually discolored from heat but he
said he has not found a single bad one in the lot. He gave me 4 of them which
I may put into a linear some day. 73, Dan, N5AR
