? I heard similar accounts from at least four sources. The thing that
caused the problem was a parts supplier (Elliot?) switching from a
ceramic coil form to one made of Delrin. // In hindsight, MFJ should
have tested the "3kW" tuner with the Delrin coil form before it was put
into production. A well-informed electronics engineer would have known
that high-voltage HF-RF is not well tolerated by Delrin due to its
unwonderful D factor. .
