the health of the choke?" NO, definitely NOT! In fact, that is the
ideal situation. My single-bander amps use fundamental-parallel-resonant
plate chokes, resonant in situ. Maximum Z is exhibited and therefore
maximum efficiency occurs at fundamental parallel resonance (typically
megohms, Z). Nearly no circulating RF current is present then (good).
