Hi Group,
One of the 8875's in my MLA-2500B is bad, so therefore I have decided to =
convert the amp to two 8874 (3CX400A7). As these tubes cooling air is =
applied axially, I will make an anode compartment using Teflon. The =
compartment will consist of three parts: one housing, one deflector and =
a bottom plate. This compartment will be made so that two 3CX800A7 also =
will fit. Only difference is that the two holes for the anode coolers =
are bigger. This also mean that if you go for the 8874's, you can easily =
change to the 3CX800A7's at a later time, if so desired.
It will be made on a computerized milling machine. If there is an =
interest in such an compartment, I will store all milling-data, so that =
more compartments easily can be manufactured. Please email me if you are =
interested.
However, if there are no interest, I will not store the milling-data!
By the way, on my site, you will find detailed inrush current =
measurements on the MLA-2500B. Soon also for Drake L-4B.
Vy 73's,
Kris, LX2KL
