check mod.dk for the QRP mod for the TS-520 this mod works FB for using the ALC in on the accessory jack on all Kenwood radios, though you may need to modify the pin connections at the DIN plug, the principle is the same and it is simple and straightforward. I have used it on the 830 and 570, dont see any problems with the 430.

 "Communications" is a People skill, the rest is technology.

***  One way to control an amplifier from a TS-430S is to use the "RL"
output (+12v on TX) on the Accessory jack to T/R-switch the amplifier.

***  If you have not fixed the plated-through rivet connections on the
Final Unit, it might be a good idea to plug in your soldering iron.
