I have 3 phase here in the country for a deep well. There is no 3 phase so the power company fakes it with two lines and two transformers. The monthly billing is on a separate meter and billed at a minimum charge per month - in essence a commercial rate. And that complicates an emergency generator - which needs to be a big 3 phase job. I finally gave the well to my neighbor and dug a shallow well with a small single phase pump and a large holding tank. I can run it fine on a single phase emergency generator. The big problem with 3 phase power is availability and cost over here. 73, colin K7FM --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
