Greetings,

I was wondering what the thoughts and opinions are regarding the article in CQ magazine discussing the conversion of a 2-tube L4B to use the 3CX1200A7.

Holy cow - $900 for a single tube? Nevermind.

How well do the 8877 conversions perform? I see a fair number of L4s being converted to use the 8877.

This is a conversion that might produce 1/3 of one S-unit (2db) at the Rx end. For the price of 2, 8877s, one can buy a tetrode with handles, and a socket.
