Gain in GG depends on plate voltage and drive power.
If we use the example below 8171 can give 15 dB gain.
That is way more then 12% of full output for the tube.
EIMAC states about 16 kW max output in AB1.
Anyway, this is way too much for ham radio use, don´t
even think about using power levels like this!!

An 8171 has about 20db gain in AB1 grid-driven service. How many db gain does it exhibit in g-g service?
