The 110 lines should each be run using 14 ga romex with ground. For the 220
lines use 12 ga romex, 3 wire with ground. Be sure to connect all grounds
at service panel.

This recommendation assumes separate 15 amp breakers for each 110 line and
20 amp breakers for each 220 line. If there is not sufficient room in the
breaker box, you will need to install another breaker box nearby and run 8
gauge romex to it from the 60 amp breaker.

Subject: [Amps] Dedicated 220AC Wiring for Amps..

The house circuit for the room the shack is located in , has a single 110AC
15 Amp line that feeds 2 bedrooms. Not near enough to run a few pcs of gear,
and then throw on a couple of good size amps. At times I can turn on the
AL-80 and it trips the circuit breaker in the Panel Box. My daughter is
getting tired of resetting her clock. I've decided to use an unused slot in
the breaker box to wire a couple of direct lines for radio gear in to the
room. A couple of 220 Lines and 8 new 115AC lines off their own breakers.
This is a 60 Amp breaker I had *tagged* for use for a external shack outside
the house I don't see being built anytime soon. I want to double check the
electricians recommendations tomorrow when he arrives and says " You need
this". Any suggestions on what wire size and ratings these lines should be?

The 220AC lines will be used for the following amps.

SB-220 HF Amp (2 X 3-500Z)

Tempo 2002 VHF Amp (Henry 2 X 8874)

FAA AM-6155 Single 4CX400
== On another note, I've heard wiring this for 205VAC will get a bit higher
Plate current and more power ?

Amertron AL-80 Single 3-500 converted to 6 meters ( Can it be wired for
220?)

During contesting all of these amps can be on at one time. The 110AC lines
should be fine as they will be handling low current stuff such as power
supply, Rotor control, Etc etc...
