Your price quote of $163 a gallon brings to mind another pricing
situation that I was made aware of years ago.
A fellow who was president of an audio-equipment manufacturing
company in southern California would buy golf-ball cleaning
solution for $15 a gallon. He would repackage it in pints and sell
it for $10 a pint as "tape recorder ceramic capstan cleaner".
How he learned of the usefulness of the stuff for such a different
job I don't know.
Maybe it was half-pints. Long time ago.
