I am looking for an AM-495 or the commercial version of it. I had one
many years ago that I modified to run on 20 and 15 meters with my 20A SSB
exciter. I don't need the power supply or the tubes. If you have one at a
reasonable price please contact me. My conversion was simple. I connected
the tubes in parallel (they were push pull) the paralleled the two
capacitor sections and used the entire output coil with a loading capacitor
to form a Pi network.
I also paralleled the input capacitors and used the entire input coil
for a tuned input. Neutralization was not needed on HF. This worked well
until I sold it.
If interested, I have an AM-8 to trade that has been converted to 60
meters.
