The P&H 400 series amplifiers could be ordered with either modified 1625 tubes 
or 837 tubes.  The "Four In Line" was the ARRL's version of the grounded grid 
amplifiers using 1625 tubes.  That amplifier was in QST and a couple editions 
of the SSB Manual.

I still have 4 of those tubes with slices in the bakelite where the surgery was 
performed. They were driven by a 20A to some unknown output power on 80-20M.
 
I believe it was P&H who offered a commercial amp with those tubes.
