Thanks Dave, yes, gotta take off the RF deck, what a PIA. I tried removing
the switch w/o taking off the RF deck, nada.
Might just be time for another switch & a step start circuit, maybe using
the existing heater.

I would suggest taking it apart and fixing it.
Hopefully, mine won't mess up anytime soon.
There was a gent last year in Hawaii parting out a 3K-A but I don't know the
current status of that.
If you have never had the amp apart and lifted the shroud off the main
chassis.....it is difficult and easy to break the power switch if you drop
the shroud.
You have to remove the amp chassis from the power supply chassis first.
