Thank you all for the information you hav provided.
?I have looked at all the links provided?but I am more interested in the sweep
tube versions of the Hunter amplifiers?because that?has been?the focus of?my
research.
?Hunter made a sweep tube amplifier in the 70's that used 6LX6 tubes running at
1600 to 1800 volts on the plate at about -55 volts negative bias. I have not
been able to get much information on that amplifier but I understand that it
was an outstanding performer and the tubes lasted a long time.
?Maybe the Sweep?tube 'Hunter' amplifiers and the Transmitting tube 'Hunter'
amplifiers were made by different manufacturers....
?Thanks again,
Dennis O.

The Hunter Bandit 2000A & B model ran 4 ea. 572Bs while the C model ran a pair
of 3-400Zs (8163s)?- Hardly sweep tubes.

The Hunter Bandit ran a pair of 3-400Zs.? There's a lot of them around.? I
never owned one, but I've worked on a couple.

The Bandit I, II and III were built by D&A in Scottsbulff Nebraska. Hunter
built much higher quality amplifiers using? higher power sweep tubes at higher
plate voltages and something new at the time, (for CB amplifiers), called
'BIAS"!???
?I have no record of a Hunter branded amplifer called the Bandit, but it would
be foolish for me to say that it didn't exist. if you have any information that
you would be willing to share, I would appreciate all information I could get
on it , (especially a scanned copy of the owners manual and schematic), as I
have been?considering writing a book on the subject of those old seep tube
amplifiers..
