I Think the best approach is to find out where the voltage drop is coming from -
the AC line or the amp's power supply. 

Measure the voltage change at the AC service entrance box and again at the input
to the power supply. Compare the percentage there to the HV DC drop percentage.
That should tell you where to make improvements.
