Ameritron couldnt get the D7 working, they sent a full production run back 
to Eimac.

The 8877 would seem to be a very good substitute given that they are 
plentiful and offered as OEM in the Ameritron AL-1500. $300 is a nice price 
for a good used pull!

Another thought would be the scarce Eimac 3CX1500D7 that they quoted me 
~$900 for some time ago. If folks started buying those, then possibly the 
price would become more reasonable.
