Sure you can "splatter" with CW--it is called key clicks. Any way you
instantaneously break off or make a carrier so it has an instantaneous rise
you will have a burst of wide frequency energy. The fundamental physics is
the same whether it is spark, a lightning strike, clipping the carrier with
> 100% negative going modulation in AM, or instant rise in a data mode--a
burst of electron transfer in a conducting medium that has resistance will
produce this.
