Ya know, some of you guys reek of double standards and just plain old
sour grapes...This site regularly promotes building and using amplifiers
with YC156 tubes and many other high dissipation tubes...The usual
blurb, to give yourselves some headroom over the 1500 watt level...It's
easy to point the finger on a public forum and accuse someone of
breaking the "rules"...Maybe you would be better off finding something
better to do with your time....Rember the old "glass houses" saying....

Bob has hit the nail right on the head, just ask some they know it all, my
latest is by DH's in VK is that on the DXCC weekend I was supposed to have used
$1200.00 AU in Power just to run an amp.
Only worked 31 stations on the Sunday night for 2hrs and 1 on the Monday for
5mins.
Not bad is it seeing that Tetrodes are cheaper to run that Tubes so I wonder
what the 811H amp owner that came up with this paid for his weekend and his "H"
call mate that runs a 813 Amp and should only be 100watts.
How do DH's like this exist?
Also how do you get a power bill just for one weekend? the power companies must
be on duty 365 24/7, look at the over time.
