Doesn't the FT2000 use a standard size DIN?  We used the pin outs on the 
standard DIN and then traced them to the standard DIN on the FL-1.5Kfx. 
 From there we worked backwards to the mini DIN on the 897D.    I 
managed to confuse myself a number of times while attempting that. <:-)) 
IOW we used the 2000, 897D and FL-1.5Kfx manuals to finally figure out 
what wire went where.

I hope to get an FTDX5000MP at Dayton.
