back in the day - remember using and electric stovetop element
adjusted with a bunch of huge doorknob caps. Have none memory of
those values - but we were able to set up a newly purchased - used-
transmitter that was on the high end of the broadcast band.
And have a vivid recollection of using a 500W bulb taped to the end
of a swab - up through a small hatch on the pointy end of the
destroyer so we in the Chiefs' quarters could watch TV - haw. Even
worked while we were at sea.
