Hi Steve,

This is *sorta* related to your parts dilemma, & may well be worth remembering
for possible future use...I only just discovered it myself a coupla weeks ago!

Do you ever find yourself in need of panel bushings for your 1/4" shafts...? I
have. And after using 1/4" phone jacks for years in such applications as a
"...reasonable facsimile thereof" (on a tip I read from Bill Orr, W6SAI), I
discovered that home improvement places selling ceiling lamps have, in their
hardware parts bins, absolutely wonderful threaded, hollow "extensions"---the
things used to mount the fixtures to ceilings---for practically peanuts. Just
cut off what you might need, & attach it to your front panel with nuts & lock
washers (yes, the stores carry those items, too!).

Loews even sells pre-packaged "assemblies" of these in blister packs for a
coupla bucks...neat stuff!
