By reading the various handbooks which go into details. A 25-35uF total C is 
more than sufficient but some get obsessive about what is "enough" I'll 
often use 8 330uF Snap-Ins when the physical size works out as in the SB-220 
family. Much more and the slightly higher peak voltage and currents could 
upset the wimpy transformer in heavy use.
