I had one and it was 10 tubes.  It worked fine and I never had any
complaints.  I gave it away when the tubes went soft and matched sets were
no longer available.  It was pretty to see some bright red and others no
color at all when the original matched set died.

Someone back in the sixties ( SBE ?) made an amp with what ... 16 sweep
tubes ?

Low voltage / high current maybe 500 volts at 10 amps for a 50 ohm plate
impedance.

Never saw one close up, but it was said that it could take out the whole
band...

hear-say of course, so disregard unless verified
