Hi
If they are old
make an EXT. circuit with soft start to test each, e.g a diode with 100 kOhm in series.
Use a DMM to measure time /voltage and calculate capacitance.
230 VAC to a diode gives app. 325 VDC, take care of safety

OK, sounds good.

I'm still trying to sort the alphanumeric label EIAJD0160:

EIA = military contract?
J = ??
D = ??
01 = 2001?
60 = ??

If 2001 they are already 14 years old - perhaps not a good
choice for this amp?

Thanks - David KD4E

Or, if it a voltage doubler circuit, two more caps.

     Just put an additional 450 volt capacitor in series to increase the

Would these caps be safe to use in an amp PS?

     Samsung 120 mfd  at 450 volt 105c

     Would this # EIAJD0160 reveal the date code?

     Or best not to mess with anything below 500v?

     The Clipperton L manual says 100uF @ 500v, the ones
     in there are 125uF @ 500v.
