I also built a mobile AM transmitter using a 2E26 with a 6AQ5 as a
Heising modulator.
I had a Morrow receiver which was a 5 band transverter with a 1800
kc output. It used the car radio as IF/audio.
My first rig in 1954 was a surplus ART-13 and a BC-348. The ART-13
would tune most anything, including the bed springs.
Efficiency...SWR...what was that?? :):)
