The station which is located on the Ohio/Pennsylvania border just south of
I-80 is known as K3LR. The building on the lot is the house that K3LR shares
with his wife, Sandra. The towers only hold HF beams at the moment. There
are those who swear the 6 element 10 meter beam at 200 feet looks like a
six meter antenna. The vertical array is a 80 meter 4 square made with
Hy-Gain Hy Towers that have been extended to 70+ feet. There are some dipoles
that are used for 80 and 40 sweepstakes operations. The 160 array is built
with 4 "dipole" looking inverted sloppers hung from the 40 meter tower.
People have driven by on I-80 and exited for a visit.
The station was built with lots of help from Scott, WR3G.
73,
Tim K3LR
