Doesnt QST stand for "calling all HAMS"!

Also, keep in mind QST is the "official monthly communication" to ARRL
**MEMBERS**. Why should the cover be aimed at the non-ham and non-member??

Never got my original post back, so I don't think this is a dupe. If so
sorry. New
network server here, windows NT, new e-mail address, etc. I think I've
got it figured out.

These are the final RDXA W2TZ claimed FD results. Yes I just sent them
in.

BEST FIELD DAY IDEAS TO DATE: may not be in order of importance

Rented porta potty ! You gotta see the out house to appreciate this one,
then again maybe not ! Worse than a gas station bathroom in downtown D.C.

Party tent. The main bull shooting area. Story telling area for
those with english as a second language. Rented a 20 x 20 tent
with sides to house the cooking and eating facilities, along with
the packet station. A great idea ! Outfitted with park picnic tables
and table cloths. Really helped make the weekend a success.

A food captain, Kevin N2VJB. Maybe more important than operating. :-)

Giving the novices the KT34XA to use on 10 SSB. They had a great
time with the pile-up. Didn't last long enough though.

Getting many new, newer and inexperienced operators involved,
even a few young ones. They really enjoyed it.

THE BAD PART:

Getting the same guys every year, who do all the organizing and
do most of the work, really wears them down. K8FC and I were the
only ones willing to climb the tower. Anyone in WNY want to join
us next year ? Let me know, we could use some more help. Gung-
ho type preferred :-) No experience necessary.

Whatta ya gotta do to get more members involved ?? Well, we did
have about 20 of 80 turn out. Inviting guests has been a real benefit !

BRAGGING: My T-Ball team (4 girls, 9 boys), also know as the
"future contesters of western New York" :-) went undefeated this
year, 14 wins and 2 ties ! Cito Gaston look out. Now if they
could only operate radios like they play baseball !!! Coaching
the kids is good practice for contest coaching (really), teaches
you patience, and also a lot of fun !

This was probably the last year the RDXA will use W2TZ, pending
the outcome of the vanity fiasco. For now our club call is
KB2UDV yuck. Yes that's KB2UDVY :-)

Or maybe we'll call ourselves Fred's Guys next year and use W2TZ
again. :-)

73, Scott WA2LCC (looking forward to FD retirement), I still prefer single
oping
& ex-president of the RDXA Whew ! 2 years was enough

Jack,

Is there a time restriction on this server? I tried this AM and couldn't get
logged in.

Thanks

Bill, KM9P

Thanks to Tack the program is also now available in my ftp directory
(along with a couple copies of the Western Washington DX Club's famous
newsletter - the Totem Tabloid in Wordperfect 5.1 format). To get RUFZ -
ftp (or better yet, try ncftp) to ftp.eskimo.com and then look in the
u/o/oolon directory. It is named rufz.zip and has received the much sought
after Totem Tabloid Seal of Approval. Great program.

We're open 24 hours a day.
