What about the opposite scenario? A SO unassisted can make spots to
the cluster, just not use them. If I remember correctly, CT will not
allow you to see any of the packet windows in SO mode but it will let
you make spots. So a SO could be connected to the cluster and still
be lagitimate.

I have finally finished a summary of the replies I received in response to
my request for 40M Yagi information. The response was overwhelming! Thank
you all for the generous amounts of time and information you all invested!
The short version is that the Cushcraft proponents had the highest response
in terms of numbers, and also the fewest negative comments. KLM and Hygain
were also well represented; DX Engineering, Force 12, Telrex, Wilson, and
M2 had their supporters, too. A lone quad user was also heard from.
I tried to thank each one of you individually, and get your permission to
include your posting in the summary, attributed or not, as you desired. If
I missed someone, or messed up in not protecting your anonymity (or
neglected to give you credit, if that was your wish), I sincerely apologize.
I've sent the summary to those who asked for one in their posting; I'll not
duplicate it here on the reflector as it is VERY large. If you want a copy,
reply direct and I will send you a summary (two text files as attachments
to the e-mail message will be sent back unless you specify some other
method). Or, check the KA9FOX web-site in a few days; I will make it
available to Scott, if he wishes to put it on his excellent summary page.

No, just less confusion. The right ear (which crosses to the left brain) has
a slight advantage in tests of competing words to each ear. I assume the same
holds for Morse code, which at 30 wpm approaches speech-like perception. We
are capable of comprehending speech at 200+ wpm, suggesting that with 4 ears
you should be able to decode four conversations @ 30 wpm, but the "party
babble" experiments suggest it is hard to track more than one person at a
time.
I will try an experiment to see if 2 slow talkers can be simultaneously
tracked at 30-50 wpm.
Back to your question -- 1. One quiet ear frees brain processing for the
other ear. 2. Given a choice, put the harder-to-track signal in the right
ear.

Hi all,
Does anyone have a schematic of the RS232 "network" that is used by CT?
A null modem is used between two computers - been there / done that - but
how are three or more networked together so as to make CT happy? Jeez,
I wish Ken would have stuck with a standard, i.e., ethernet, networking scheme.
Getting ready to link three, maybe four, laptops together for the CQWW SSB
Contest.

request for a greyline display utility for Win95. GeoClock was the
overwhelming suggestion - and it is now happily gracing the upper right
corner of my CRT. Pretty neat little package - and it's run OK for
several days so it probably doesn't do anything nasty to the system.
