For what it's worth, while contesting may "turn one's brain to crap" it
doesn't make ears worthless. Today, at around 14062/4 several QRP cw
stations were working their own contest. The fact that there was RTTY both
above and below them didn't seem to bother them at all.... or me for that
matter. I worked W3TS, K5BX, HP1AC, and several others. All the while
running 5W or so.

As usual, it's funny how some people just can't seem to get the hang of
using filters (either the silicon type or the type that comes packaged in a
brain).  The same guy did seem willing to go to the trouble of firing up
something that would copy the RTTY, so he could get the callsigns, so he
could send his hate mail.... Seems like the same amount of effort would have
resulted in more QSO's, QRM or not.

Oh well, there's no accounting for priorities....
