[CQ-Contest] QRL and QUESTION MARK

Subject: [CQ-Contest] QRL and QUESTION MARK

My elmer taught me to use QSU instead of QRL? on CW. And thats plain ole
QSU no ? appended.

ka2rrk asked elmer: When I asked why?

Elmers Reply: He said it's a pretty good question student. And
the answer is elementary.

One the question mark is built in just like other Q
signals
no need for redundancy. And with no argument added
you mean this frequency. Otherwise they who copy aren't
                fluent and thats another story...

No one memorizes the Q signal list, And the odds of them
                doing so are NIL.

ka2rrk nodes in acknowledgment.

Elmer continues: While half the world on a frequency stumbles to
find
thier list to look up QSU, You've gained control of the
                frequency.

Because thats given you the silence to follow with your
CQ whatever buisness. But you should realize that there
is an art to communication with CW. It's all timing. And
you
as the operator must chose the correct time and place on
                the dial.

And QSU is really a better description of what you wanted
to do in the first place, isn't it?

ka2rrk: Thanks I knew you were greatest op! And smiles
come
                forth mutually.

My elmer was the late Dave Johnson W2BN
