It sounds like the old HM-10 headset. If so, hardware is real easy to adapt
that boom microphone to any headset. The plastic arm that holds the actual
boom is made to match 1/4 inch hardware. Come from your headphone bracket
with 1/4 inch bolt. I installed a nut to lock mine in place. The put on a
flat washer, plastic boom clip, another flat washer, lock washer and another
nut. You will see that the clip it marked to lay against the 1/4 inch flat
washer. I went further to epoxy a nut inside a knob so I could easily loosen
and hand tighten it as desired,
I have several headphones with bolts coming out the left side. For a
lightweight the R/S PRO-25 titanium was the best. They go on sale every
summer at 1/2 price. For full cover muffs I have the R/S Nova 40 that I use
now but it is an old set no longer sold.
The first step is to find the right headphones for clarity and comfort. The
bolt and boom clip can be added to anything later.
