QSY. Now that I don't have any antennas any more, I got on a little & boy,
once
a big M/M worked me, sure enough a huge mess would happen about two to three
minutes later - I must've been spotted.
It used to be that spots were welcome, as they brought highly desired
rate. And
that rate would be spread out over time, as the spot propagated from cluster to
cluster.
But now seemingly it's the entire NA continent calling at once. And by
calling at
once, I mean immediately upon getting the spot, as some folks just started
dumping
their call without bothering to check if I was still trying to make a Q
with somebody
else.
It's a shame, but the only thing we can do is QSY. I typically leave the
sub-RX on
the frequency I came from & listen from time to time to what's going on
after I left &
it's interesting how the mob is still there, calling & calling, minutes
after I've
scooted up the band & already squeezed off a CQ or two & perhaps already got an
answer already.
Internet linking of clusters has taken things to such a scale that the word
mob is
appropriate - these pile-ups quickly start behaving like one, too...
