Not so.  I create files with two extensions quite often for my own
use, especially for backup purposes.  For example, when I backup
file.txt I will name it file.txt.b  The .b tells me that it is a
backup.  I'm sure others have their own schemes, but a dual (or more)
extension is both permissible and common.
