Amen. I was really hoping for more from QST when they announced that the line
scores would not be published anymore. The top ten boxes are there, so you
don't need to tell me kh6nd's score, I can see it in the box. It would be
really great to hear about the little station by station rivalries in
particular sections, or highlite a particularly impressive score and how it was
achieved - including station description, planning, operating strategy, etc.
It would be great if the contest score announcements could be written like a
sports article (it is reporting the results of a radioSPORT event) that would
portray the excitement and suspense of working a sweep unassisted, reaching a
new personal high run rate, or attaining a goal. If contesting seems exciting,
maybe more will participate. If it seems like a boring repetetive event that
just results in a score that isin't official for 9 months and probably won't
even recieve any recognition - well that sure sounds like something I'll skip.
