Bruce might I suggest you think this through before you make such a hasty
response. I refer you to VE4XT's response where he asks a valid question: Why
go to a rare mult when you can do from at home. OR how about some of the W6's
like W6RJ who run outrageous power from a 10K high mountaintop instead of
having a home station? (There are at least 3 of those W6 stations on the air
daily).
My, very humble, suggestion would be to only allow internet remote bases to
submit checklogs, at best, or have a separate category. Technology is moving
very rapidly right now and in the next 12 months there could be several dozen
of these remote stations in every contest. AND to further complicate the
question there are new remote receivers popping up every single day. I think
there are somewhere around 200 now, how do they figure in the question.
Wouldn't it be great to have 3 receivers: one in the east coast, one in the
middle, and one on the west coast? The technology is already in use and I
suspect being used.
Just more food for thought, or fuel on the fire.

The location of the transmitter. This will be addressed in 2006 revised rules.
