K4VX also uses monoband amps, though with separate power supplies. One
problem with the single-supply design is that a single failure puts
*all* bands on low power, not just one band. (and with separate
supplies, if you have a failure on one supply/band you can use an
off-the-shelf commercial amp to fill in. With a single supply, you need
six<g>.)
ISTR W0AIH also uses multiple monoband amps.
