What we need coming into the hobby is people interested in radio. Ham
radio is about generating, transmitting and receiving RF energy. A
computer is a wonderful aid - I have two running when I am on the air
- but they are secondary to the radio in my shack.
A lot of what I hear these days has it just backwards. For some people
that box with the big knob in the middle has become an accessory to
the Internet, and that's a shame.
