And other contests allow spotting use by single operators without  placing 
them into a separate category.  It is a question on which  reasonable people 
can 
disagree.
 
If the sponsor does not choose to specify which approach it wants, it  
becomes a question of whether one follows the classic American or Soviet Union  
approach to life:  Everything is allowed unless there is a rule against  it, 
vs. 
only what specific rules allow is  permitted.
 
I go for the American approach. Your effort, other than packet use, was a  
single operator effort.  Enter that way.
