Geoffrey,

I don't think that anyone suggested that it be mandatory for everyone.  If
it somehow farkles your run at a WRTC spot then you might not want to do it.

Meanwhile the universe of SS "players for fun" dwarfs the number of WRTC
aspirants, so even those exalted few heavy hitters would benefit from the
increased activity.
