I thought the whole idea 'Classic' class was to go back to 'Just a boy and his radio' type of contesting with no spotting, etc.

Why have the classic and then just have the same rules as the regular contest, only for 24 hours? 73

Want to join me? Should Classic be changed next year to eliminate these restrictions?

I agree with Pete. Being one of those advocates along with Pete and others who have advocated for this class for the e past decade I completely agree that the Classic should be changed to eliminate these restrictions.

The reason I didn't enter this category last year after working to get such a category was strickly because assisted was not allowed.

The idea of the 24-hour challenge was to increase participation by providing a class that didn't have any restrictions to encourage others to participate anyway they could even if it was for a restricted 24-hr period.
