There are still those who prefer to receive actual printed certificates.
Not everyone, hard as it is to believe in this day and age, has Internet
access, or has a high quality printer.

I have no objection to having the option to "print your own certificate"
available. Nor do I object if those who believe, as Pete does, that it's a
waste of time, money, and manpower, or simply don't want another piece of
paper for whatever reason, and thus wish to opt out of receiving a
certificate.

But I don't support taking that away from those who still prefer getting
them in the mail.

Yesterday, I downloaded and printed my certificate from CQWWCW 2014.
The resulting piece of paper is every bit as nice as the ones they used
to mail.

Why is the ARRL still spending lots of person-hours, printing costs and
postage to mail out certificates for its contests? A member of the CAC
actually used cost a couple of years ago as a reason for not splitting
off Assisted from Multi-Single. Fortunately, that "logic" finally
failed, but as a supporter of ARRL for the last 60 years, I have to ask
when they will quit wasting money like this?
